Welcome back to day 7! And just for your information, launch is tomorrow at 60 acres. Its the day they level up from baby rockets to competition rockets.
Part 1
Ishaan started with a quiz on all the parts of a model rocket, but made the rocket more advanced. All the students excelled on it. Keito then started explain how the real TARC competition works. Just to summarize, here is what he said:
- A competition that engages over 100,000 students across the nation in rockets.
- Fosters a child’s potential in stem related topics.
- Earn big money for the students and schools (up to $20,000 for a team).
During our launch this Sunday, the students will experience the same criteria as a normal TARC competition, including scoring. 4 points per second off, and 1 point per foot off the target.
The students then just proceeded to work for the next hour on making their rockets. Some were using tube fins, some had canted fins, some had straight fins. Its just fun to see what is happening.

Breaktime!
It was quite difficult trying to drag each student outside to play sharks and minnows as everyone really wanted to finish the rocket today. But in the long run, breaktime is important to keep the students focused.

Part 2
They spent the rest of the their time building their rockets for the flight tomorrow! The students got really far today, I believe that everyone of them will finish their rockets this Sunday.
Until then, get ready for the competition!
